When it comes to performing a home safety assessment in the Hilton Head Island, SC area, I am trained and experienced in using the Age Safe® America’s 240-point home safety assessment.

little more about jim

Many years of experience as a handyman and in safety management. My experiences include, building wheelchair ramps, installing safety grab bars, changing out incandescent to LED lights for better visibility, modifying doorway access for walkers/wheelchairs, building specialty furniture, Habitat for Humanity construction volunteer, and many other building trades and woodworking activities.

I am a member and past President of a large community woodworking shop (9000 Sq Ft/900+ members) where I am and have been a member of the Rules and Safety committee for many years.  I manage a large network of cameras monitoring the users of over 60 large floor mounted power tools and the safety practices associated with them.  The safety committee actively looks for hazards.  Rules are developed and explained and posted for all users of the equipment.

Lighting is critical for safe operation and we insure that we have it.  This is somewhat like the 240-point home safety assessment that I offer on the SERVICES page.  We look for hazards, identify them and then resolve them.
